The 16-year-old high school student who was taken into police custody for injuries to a student in his class inflicted with scissors, in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain), was indicted for attempted murder, this Wednesday 27 November 2024, reveals theAFP. He was “placed under judicial supervision […] with temporary placement in a closed educational center”, said prosecutor Karine Malara.
The young man is accused of having scissored his friend, aged 15, following an argument which broke out for an unknown reason, the rectorate said on Monday.
The victim was hit in the face and one arm and hospitalized but his life prognosis was not in jeopardy.
The high school student recognized “the materiality of the facts”
The adolescent, an unaccompanied foreign minor living in a shelter, “recognized the materiality of the facts”, said the prosecutor. According to Karine Malara, the high school student would be “free from mental disorder” et “therefore responsible for his actions”, but would suffer “psychological disorders”.
Following this attack, the students in the class received specific support within the establishment, which remained open on Monday.
