A fire broke out on the night of Tuesday November 26 to Wednesday November 27 in an apartment building in Val-au-Perche. One person was inconvenienced by the fumes and taken to hospital.
A nighttime intervention by firefighters
According to Tendance-Ouest, around 1 a.m., firefighters intervened in Val-au-Perche to control a fire which had broken out in an apartment located in the basement of a residential building.
The fire, the origin of which remains to be determined, ravaged the bedroom of the accommodation, causing significant material damage. The rapid mobilization of emergency services made it possible to prevent the flames from spreading to other apartments.
Six homes evacuated as a precaution
Due to the risks linked to smoke and the immediate proximity of other homes, six apartments were evacuated during the emergency response. The occupants were able to leave the premises safely.
“A person, inconvenienced by the smoke, was treated and transported to the Nogent-le-Rotrou hospital center,” said the firefighters.
Significant material damage
Although the fire did not cause serious casualties, the bedroom of the apartment where the fire broke out was completely destroyed. A damage assessment is underway, and local authorities will determine whether residents can safely return to their homes.
The exact circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
