Cold cases soon to be resolved? A man arrested for the murder of two women in 1988 and 2000

A 62-year-old man is currently in police custody in , interviewed by investigators.

According to the Dauphiné Libéréthis resident of Burgundy would be a suspect in the murders of two women in 1988 and 2000.

Nathalie Boyer, 15, was killed in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier in the summer of 1988. Her body was discovered the day after her disappearance, along a railway line. The teenager from Island had her throat slit.

Laïla Afif, 40, was killed in 2000 in La Verpillière. Her body had been recovered from the Bourbre canal, this mother had been executed with a bullet in the back of the head.

Two violent deaths in -Isère, two cold cases which have never been resolved until now.

According to our colleagues, this track was launched thanks to an unexpected twist. Indeed, the suspect would have been betrayed by the DNA… of his son, taken as part of a related legal case.

In addition to his DNA potentially found at one or both crime scenes, the sixty-year-old has the profile of a sexual predator. He was convicted by the Isère Assize Court in 2002 for the rape of his daughters.
