Wendy Paradis takes over as President of the World Travel Agents Associations Alliance (WTAAA)

A Canadian figure arrives at the head of the World Travel Agents Associations Alliance (WTAAA). Indeed, the president of theACTA, Wendy Paradiswas appointed president of the executive committee of this international organization bringing together travel agency associations from 57 countries.

Founded in 2008, the organization pursues the objective of defending the rights of travelers while guaranteeing the sustainability and success of the travel advisor profession.

Strategic priorities for 2025 and beyond

The appointment of Wendy Paradis was announced following the WTAAA General Assembly and Board Meeting, held recently in Athens.

During this meeting, the WTAAA also presented its priorities for the years to come. These aim to improve the traveler experience and provide increased support for travel advisors.

For travelers, the organization emphasizes price transparency, particularly with the adoption of new technologies such as the standard NDC. She wants to make it easier to compare options and make informed decisions.

A campaign called “ Travel Right, Travel Smart », scheduled for 2025, aims to equip consumers to effectively navigate an increasingly complex travel environment. Consumer protection and strengthened dispute resolution mechanisms are also priorities.

Supporting travel advisors

For industry professionals, WTAAA is committed to providing resources and support to address emerging challenges. This includes advocating for fair pay, adapting to new technologies and working with airlines to ensure a level playing field.

Wendy Paradis brings to WTAAA her experience leading ACTA, where she worked on similar initiatives to promote and advocate for travel advisors.
