. A car set on fire at a nightclub in Confluence

What happened this Wednesday, November 27 around 4 a.m. in front of Pavillon 52, this building in the Confluence district of (2e), located at 52 quai Rambaud and which notably houses the Azar Club nightclub?

Video surveillance images are being used to determine the circumstances in which a Renault Clio was thrown into reverse in front of the entrance to the Azar, then set on fire. Under the effect of the heat, the door and four windows cracked and one of the windows ended up sliding in the metal guides and breaking.

The car, whose handbrake probably failed due to the flames, slid towards the roadway and came to rest on the green edge which borders the street, approximately four meters from the frontage. This movement, which the arsonist(s) had probably not anticipated, made it possible to limit the damage to the building.

Revenge?

At the current stage of the investigations, one of the favored hypotheses is that of revenge targeting the nightclub, which was closed at the time of the events. The perpetrator(s) specifically targeted his entry, and security problems are common in the sector.

According to a security source, more or less serious incidents, ranging from rodeos to villainous or sexual assaults and the consumption and sale of drugs, are in fact recurrent around the establishment, open only on weekends.
