the driver involved sentenced to a road safety course

The court sentenced a sixty-year-old, responsible for a fatal road accident, to a road safety course, this Tuesday, November 26, 2024, reports The Picard Courier . The facts with which he is accused date back to 2023.

Manslaughter

One morning in March, while trying to enter a parking lot at the wheel of his car, he crossed a lane, cutting off a motorcyclist in Argœuves, in the suburbs of (). The 40-year-old man did not survive.

Tried for manslaughter, the sixty-year-old explained that he had not seen the vehicle, which “did not drive below 90 km/h in a place limited to 50”notes his lawyer, cited by our colleagues. For the civil party, « there was recklessness” which the magistrates recognized.
