Notre-Dame, the Pope in Corsica: The Lord's Day at the rendezvous of history!

From the reopening of Notre-Dame to Pope Francis' trip to Corsica, it's a historic December for The Lord's Day which is mobilizing in an exceptional way to cover these global events.

Two masses at Notre-Dame Cathedral

On December 7 and 8, the whole world will celebrate this long-awaited event: the reopening of Notre-Dame de Cathedral, 5 years after the fire which deeply marked hearts and minds. Several highlights are planned, including the first mass in the building on Saturday, December 8, in the presence of several hundred heads of state, bishops and priests.

A moment of prayer and global communion in which we associate The Lord's Day. Celebrated by the Archbishop of Paris, Mgr Laurent Ulrich, the mass will be broadcast live on mondovision from 10:30 a.m. The celebration will be longer than usual due to the special rites of consecration of the new liturgical furniture (altar, ambo, reliquary of the crown of thorns and tabernacle).

From 9 a.m., the teams of Lord's Day will be on the ground with an interreligious broadcast. The leaders of the 7 main religious traditions of will meet in front of the cathedral. Together, they will bear witness to the values ​​of peace and dialogue carried by this reconstruction project, a symbol of unity beyond beliefs.

We will receive communion again from Notre-Dame on Christmas Day, exactly like 76 years before… In 1948, the world's first televised mass took place. The Christmas mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Eurovision and will be followed by the blessing The city and the world of Pope Francis. A celebration which will close the Advent period, in the colors of the Virgin Mary, Our Lady, Gate of Heaven.

Watch the mass live at 3:30 p.m. on France 2 from Place d'Austerlitz in Ajaccio, in the U Casone green theater. From 10:30 a.m., the teams from Lord's Day are mobilizing to offer a special live broadcast dedicated to the Pope's trip to Corsica.
