This is a hard blow for French figure skating.
Adam Siao Him Fawho had obtained his ticket for the ISU Grand Prix Final scheduled for Grenoble from December 5 to 8, is forced to withdraw due to an ankle injury contracted during the Cup of China a week earlier.
According to the French Ice Sports Federation which announced the bad news on its social networks, the Frenchman will have to take a three-week break to fully recover.
“Adam and his team are obviously disappointed with this situation, but the health and well-being of our athlete remains our top priority,” the statement said.
The double European champion (2023 and 2024) and bronze medalist at the 2024 Worlds hopes to return to competition during the European Championships which will be held from January 27 to February 2, 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia.
Adam Siao Him Fa had already suffered an ankle injury at the end of May during training, which delayed his season preparation. Well recovered six months later, he won the French Figure Skating Grand Prix 2024 at the beginning of November by making a fantastic comeback and clinching third place in the Cup of China three weeks later.
