At the beginning of November, VTC drivers had already carried out a very successful snail operation in Toulouse, which caused major disruptions to traffic in the Pink City. They are back at it again this Wednesday, November 27. Follow this mobilization and the resulting traffic situation in our live stream below.
VTCs have left the ring road, they are arriving in the city center
A delegation of VTC drivers goes to the Haute-Garonne prefecture. The other part of the procession arrives on the Allée Jean-Jaurès.
Disruptions expected on the bus network
Tisseo warns this Wednesday morning of disruptions to be expected on its bus network this Wednesday morning due to the VTC demonstration which must move to the city center after blocking the Toulouse ring road.
“Due to a demonstration planned in Toulouse, on Wednesday November 27, 2024, bus lines passing through the city center are likely to be disrupted. Delays are expected. More information in real time at 10:00 a.m. To prepare your trip and find the most suitable solution, think about the route calculator and the next passages section,” says Tisseo.
“The price of groceries is too low”
Faissal Jamais, deputy secretary FO-Intersyndical Nationale VTC, is present in the convoy. He details the reasons for their demonstration: “We want to denounce the agreement signed between Uber and the previous union. The price of the rides is too low. In addition, the platform wants to increase its commissions from 25% to 45%.”
Traffic jams build up
The convoy is currently at La Cépière, traffic is very complicated on the outer ring road, west side, with visibly a traffic jam extending to the north-east of the ring road. Here is the traffic situation at 8:40 a.m.
4 kilometers of traffic jam at 7:50 a.m.
The VTC snail operation has the desired effect, it seems, since 4 kilometers of traffic jams are recorded at 7:50 a.m. following this operation, still in progress, on the outer ring road to the west of Toulouse.
Change of program: until the Pont des Demoiselles exit
The VTC convoy was initially supposed to take the outer ring road from Blagnac to Empalot before targeting the city center. Finally, it will stay on the ring road until the Pont des Demoiselles exit, then go to Allées Jean-Jaurès. They should be in the city center between 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
The convoy has left
At 7:35 a.m. this Wednesday morning, the convoy of VTCs which gathered in the Sesquières car park in the north of Toulouse, took the road to join the ring road. They are currently at the Blagnac exit.
Traffic around Toulouse: calm for the moment
Traffic at 7:25 a.m. around Toulouse and on the ring road is calm for the moment, before certainly being strongly impacted by the VTC demonstration.
VTCs gather north of Toulouse
Since 6:30 a.m., dozens of VTCs have been gathering at the Sesquières car park, north of Toulouse. In a few minutes, they will leave on a snail operation to the Jean Jaurès aisles. Traffic on the ring road and the city center will be disrupted. After a meeting with the prefecture at 10 a.m., the drivers will leave the Jean-Jaurès aisles to go towards Compans Caffarelli, in front of the Uber offices. They should stay until at least 11 o’clock.
Will the Toulouse ring road be blocked because of VTCs this morning?
Traders last week, farmers last year or even VTC this Wednesday… It is often by blocking the Toulouse ring road or by carrying out snail operations there that social movements hope to make themselves heard. And motorists feel trapped in a fight that does not concern them. We talk about it in this article ????????
