In the village of Blaison-Gohier (Blaison-Saint-Sulpice), near Angers, two tenants of a house engulfed in flames had to be hospitalized at the Angers University Hospital this Wednesday morning, November 27. A 32-year-old man, poisoned by the fire and burned on the face, was in serious condition. A 31-year-old woman was slightly injured after inhaling fumes.
23 firefighters mobilized
Alerted shortly before 4:30 a.m., the 23 firefighters mobilized, from the emergency centers of Angers-Chêne vert, Brissac, Thouarcé and Beaufort-en-Vallée, discovered on their arrival an 80 m² house completely engulfed in flames. They were unable to save the house even though the fire was brought under control using two water hoses three quarters of an hour later and extinguished shortly before 8 a.m.
The two tenants, once released from the hospital, will have to be rehoused.
An investigation has been opened.
