La Sacem (Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers) awarded its 2024 Grands Prix on Monday (November 25). The major musical event rewarded 19 artists at the Folies Bergère in Paris. Among them, two Martinicans: Meryl and Chris Macari.

Martinican Chris Macari wins the grand prize for audiovisual author-director. With his company audiovisual production, “Tchimbé Raid”, he has recorded hundreds of films and clips.

It is a great honor to be selected to receive one of the prizes awarded this evening, November 25, 2024. It is also a pleasure to participate in this list of SACEM 2024 grand prizes. I am very sensitive to this recognition and I thank those who thought of me for this distinction. And I would like to take this opportunity to salute the tremendous work that SACEM has been doing since its creation a long time ago. So much progress, so much change.
