The town hosted the Young Volunteer Challenge in Vendée on Saturday, organized by the Departmental Committee of Youth, Sports and Community Involvement Medalists. “During this evening, seven young people won silver, four bronze and four gold,” explains Joël Poiraud, president.
Aurélien Lorieau, a 32-year-old truck driver, is among the gold medalists. He is rewarded, among other things, for his presidency at the head of the Etoile sportive dyonisienne de table tennis, a club which he joined in 2007, before becoming manager, from 2020 to 2017, then president. He participates in the organization of tasks and events, logistical support and the good dynamics of the association.
Aged 25 and a military firefighter with the Paris Fire Brigade, Baptiste Grassineau also received the highest distinction on Saturday. A first aider since he was 16, he became a first aid team member at 17.
At the age of 19, he took responsibility for the Aubigny-Les Clouzeaux branch, where he now manages twenty volunteers. He is also a first aid trainer and provides training to the general public and their first aid workers.
Two favorites
Océane Druard is a 22-year-old from Nantes. She is a training judge for the departmental gymnastics committee in La Roche-sur-Yon. She is a judge in regional competitions, and a trainer on GAF Judges training, co-responsible for judges in Vendée. Joining the association in 2008, she became involved in 2016.
The 4e winner to pocket gold is Nicolas Jaud. This thirty-year-old is a manager and member of the office of the Air d'en Rire association, in Saint-Denis-la-Chevasse. He has been responsible for management since 2014.
He is responsible, among other things, for assessing needs based on technical sheets (quotes, orders), and managing the volunteer technical team. He is also a contact with professionals, responsible for the technical layout of stages and rooms, and equipment management. He joined the association in July 2006.
“Two favorites were also awarded, to Transport Solidaire and to Jean-Luc Bardin”, specifies Joël Poiraud.
