Tuesday evening, November 26, the Israeli Prime Minister announced that a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon had been approved by his government. The agreement provides for a withdrawal of Hezbollah forces from South Lebanon. The Israeli army could remain there for 60 days, time to allow the Lebanese army, aided by UNIFIL blue helmets, to deploy as interposition forces. The ceasefire must come into force on the night of Tuesday November 26 to Wednesday November 27 at 3 a.m. The fighting increased in intensity on Tuesday.
