a teacher and his son threatened with death on Snapchat in a high school in the 7th arrondissement

It was the discovery of screenshots of a private discussion group between Terminale students on Snapchat, widely used by adolescents, which pushed a teacher from the Rempart-Vinci high school, in (7th), to file a complaint , Monday November 25 in the evening, for death threats against a person responsible for providing public service and those around them.

On this “chat”, called “Rempart 5”, the students in his son's class, excluded from the group, circulate a call to “take down the PD and his daron“and to”throw the PD and his big joke in the trash“. The teenager would also be the subject of a wave of harassment from other students, who would circulate a photograph of him dating back several years on this discussion. The situation is “taken very seriouslyindicates the rectorate of the Aix-Marseille academy, like any attack on staff.

An open investigation

After these threats, a report was made to the prosecutor and an investigation was also opened, confirms the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters. “I learned that death threats were made against one of the teachers at the Lycée Rempart-Vinci in Marseille, and his son. […] At the Republic school, no threats, no attacks against a teacher are acceptable. Never.“, reacted on X the president (Renaissance) of the Region, Renaud Muselier, who requested the exclusion of the author of the threats, “if it is a student“.

At the time of filing a complaint, the teacher also mentioned that a harmful climate reigned in another BTS class where he teaches in the same establishment, with no established link with his son's final year. He describes difficulties managing the class, where he reports racist, conspiratorial and anti-Semitic remarks between the students. “The last bastion in the face of conspiracy, racism and anti-Semitism, the Southern Region stands alongside teachers“, added Renaud Muselier on X.

The teacher from this high school in the 7th arrondissement was received by the head of the establishment. Legal protection and support from a psychologist were offered to him by the rectorate.
