The new First president of the Court of Appeal is officially known: it is Jean-Michel Etcheverry56 years old, who arrives from the Ministry of Justice.

Advisor to the Court of Cassation, he has held the position ofinspector general of justice, deputy of the inspector general, head of the general inspection of judicial affairs, in the office of the Keeper of the Seals, Didier Migaud since the new government of Michel Barnier.


He has a great career to his credit. In December 2017, as a first grade magistrate at the central administration of the Ministry of Justice, he was appointed to the position of project director (group III), director of the coordination mission of the “future TGI de ”, to the director of judicial services.

Prior to his arrival in Paris, in the early 2010s, Jean-Michel Etcheverry was advisor in charge of the general secretariat to the First President of the Court of Appeal of , in the Rhône, ouille was advisor in charge of the general secretariat, after having been president of the high court of , in the and judge at the judicial court of , in the Yonne.

Four departments

In the 90s, before becoming a court auditor, he passed the entrance exam to the National School of Magistracy -ENM- in , a region he knows well since he is a native of the Basque country. .
