???? Liverpool, its pre-match rituals, its post-career and its best friends: Thibaut Courtois opens up in a casual interview before the Champions League clash – All football

Ahead of the Champions League clash against Liverpool, Thibaut Courtois spoke in a relaxed interview broadcast on Real Madrid channels. In addition to analyzing the English opponent, the Belgian goalkeeper revealed some personal habits, more or less surprising.

“With Arne Slot, Liverpool have become a very dynamic team, they exert strong pressure and counter-attack effectively. Salah remains their most dangerous man,” Courtois warned in an interview published on Real Madrid’s social media.

The Belgian goalkeeper, in this casual interview, also explained his pre-match rituals. “I’m starting to warm up in the locker room. On the pitch, I touch the right post with my left foot, the left post with my right foot and the crossbar with my hands.”

“It helps me stay focused,” he adds. Despite the pressure of a Champions League clash, he approaches each match in the same way. “Whether it’s in the league or the Champions League, I always want to win,” he said with determination.

The goalkeeper also spoke about his favorite stadiums, including San Mamés (in Bilbao) and Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena. He would also like to set foot on the pitch at Borussia Dortmund. In this interview, Courtois also revealed what he would have liked to do if he had not become a footballer. “Maybe volleyball, but I also like cyclocross. In Belgium, it is very popular. Otherwise, I would have wanted to become a physiotherapist, like my mother,” he confided.

Speaking about the future, Courtois expressed his desire to stay involved after his Real career, probably in the youth set-up. “I want to pass on my passion for the goalkeeper position.”

Courtois concluded with a warm tribute to his former Racing Genk teammates. “Dániel Tőzsér and Elyaniv Barda are perhaps my best friends in football, they helped me enormously when I came into the first team as a teenager. They saw my potential and gave me confidence. We are still in touch,” said a grateful Courtois.
