Due to the use of explosives, the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPC) formally took charge of the Petite-Boissière affair. As a reminder, a mailbox exploded on Monday around 4:15 p.m. in this Grange-Canal neighborhood, seriously injuring a 12-year-old girl. Operated for six hours during the night, she is now in intensive care at HUG.
The MPC is now leading two investigations linked to the use of explosives: that of Petite-Boissière, but also that of Saint-Jean. On August 20, a trash bag exploded in front of a father's front door, injuring his legs. Remarkable fact: the man affected in Saint-Jean worked for a watch factory there, the same one that employs the owner of the letterbox bomb in Petite-Boissière.
In a press release released Tuesday afternoon, the MPC confirms our information, in particular “the use of explosive material” and indicates that “investigations are currently underway to examine all possible avenues. This includes a potential link to the explosion that occurred on August 20, 2024 in Saint-Jean.
