On October 31, Jean-Noël Marcellesi, real estate developer and hotelier from Porto-Vecchio had filed a complaint for “attempted extortion by an organized gang, death threats and violence“, which led to the opening of a blatant investigation by the public prosecutor's office, entrusted to the interdepartmental direction of the national police.

In connection with this matter, in recent days, “several people were heard“, confirms Nicolas Septe, the public prosecutor of Ajaccio, after information revealed by our colleagues from Corse Matin.

According to Corse Matin, these are four people “mainly septuagenarians“which were successively heard by the judicial police,”then released. The Ajaccio public prosecutor's office assured us that the investigation was continuing and that it would not make further comments.

In this case, entrepreneur Jean-Noël Marcellesi assures that four men came to his real estate agency located in Porto-Vecchio on October 30 and demanded, under threat, the payment of 500,000 euros. Information revealed by the newspaper Le Monde.

Jean-Noël Marcellesi, owner of the five-star Casadelmar hotel in Porto-Vecchio, is the father of Guillaume Marcellesi, who was found by the gendarmes.seriously injured” in the bodywork of a friend in this town in the far south of the island, in January 2023.

This attack, filmed by video surveillance, resulted in the indictment of two men, Anthony Bornea and Pierre Battesti, for “premeditated attempted murder“.

Anthony Bornea had also been placed under the status of assisted witness for “attempt to obtain by violence, threats of violence or coercion (…) the renunciation of the acquisition of a real estate complex”, all “in an organized gang“.

During this investigation, Guillaume Marcellesi, interviewed, assured that Anthony Bornea had “already threatened his father during the summer of 2021“his”ordering withdrawal from a case“, the acquisition of a residence”d’exception“composed of 26 apartments”with breathtaking views of the lagoon” for several million euros in Piantarella (Corsica-du-Sud), “under penalty of reprisals“.

If the attack on his son was mentioned to Mr. Marcellesi by the perpetrators of the extortion attempt, there is currently no established link between these two cases.
