Da Nang (VNA) – A collection of 17 photos capturing the beauty of Vietnamese landscapes, created by photographer Daniel Kordan, was recently highlighted in the prestigious British daily Daily Mail as well as on various travel forums.
The images, which include the surreal beauty of the Golden Bridge and the majestic sea of clouds seen from the top of Ba Den Mountain, have attracted keen interest from international readers. These photos, rich in color and composition, perfectly illustrate the harmonious coexistence between human activity and nature, arousing a deep desire to explore Vietnam.
Daniel Kordan, a 35-year-old professional photographer, specializes in aerial photography. He has traveled extensively, capturing breathtaking landscapes in Japan, Myanmar, Antarctica, Iceland and Italy. His visit to Vietnam gave him the opportunity to depict the beauty of the country, through natural monuments such as the Ban Gioc waterfall, the Mat Than mountain (Cao Bang), the tea plantations of Long Coc (Phu Tho), the picturesque sites of Trang An (Ninh Binh), Ha Long (Quang Ninh) and Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai)…
Beyond natural landscapes, his collection also presents to the international community new Vietnamese tourist attractions, including the Golden Bridge of the Sun World Bà Nà Hills complex (Da Nang) which he describes as “a source of inspiration inexhaustible for aerial photography. Daniel offers a unique perspective of the Pont d’Or, captured in the pink hues of dawn, enhanced by the morning mist which envelops this exceptional structure.
Located at Sun World Ba Na Hills Resort in Da Nang, the Golden Bridge has become a symbolic attraction of Vietnam. This unique 152 meter structure, supported by two giant hands, has been recognized by the Daily Mail as one of the 10 new wonders of the world, particularly for its extraordinary appearance in the morning mist or at dusk. “It is necessary to use many different types of lenses and filters to adapt to different light conditions and angles,” he told the Daily Mail. His work resulted in a striking image of the castles of Ba Na, which gradually glow amid the clouds as night slowly falls.
One of the key images in his collection depicts the “cloud hats” at the top of Mount Ba Den (Tay Ninh). The photo reveals the mysterious beauty of the “Roof of the South” at dawn, highlighting the Tây Bô Da Son Buddha statue on the mountain. Through this achievement, Daniel wishes to “arouse wonder and admiration among the international community” and “encourage readers to discover this exceptional cultural and natural heritage”.
The international recognition of photographs of Mount Ba Den is not a new phenomenon. In 2024, among more than 415,000 works submitted by 74,000 photographers from 206 countries and territories, the photo of the Buddha statue at the top of Mount Ba Den, taken by photographer Tran Tuan Viet, stood out as the only Vietnamese representative selected for the Sony World Photography Awards. The work was exhibited at Somerset House, London, in April 2024.
