“I still don’t believe it,” confides the accused’s older brother

The personality and career of Ludovic Bertin, 29, who is responsible for the murder of Victorine and an attempted rape of the student found lifeless in September 2020 in Villefontaine, will once again be at the center of the debates, this Tuesday, second day of his trial before the Isère Assize Court in Grenoble.

The day must be devoted to the testimony of several relatives of the accused. Some of them will be absent, like his mother and one of his sisters, but this Tuesday morning, Ludovic Bertin’s older brother took the stand.

“We know each other, but on the surface”

Sixteen years separate the two men and the witness, if he immediately described the accused as a reliable, trustworthy and hard-working man, also confided “not having really grown up with him”, painting a picture of a “normal” family. ”, but communicating little. “We know each other, but on the surface,” he added.

“Faced with your questions, I tell myself that I know nothing,” said the witness. “When I learned the facts, for me it was not possible. I don’t know him to be violent.
