No royal banquet

But everything will not (yet) really be the same as before. While state visits traditionally end with a sumptuous banquet featuring tiaras and beautiful dresses, the palace has already confirmed that the Princess of Wales will not attend this year.

However, this is one more step for Kate Middleton in resuming her duties. She had not participated in a state visit since the announcement of her cancer in March 2024, the last visit dating back to almost a year ago exactly, during the trip of the president and the first lady of South Korea.

The princess then participated in the welcoming ceremony and the traditional banquet at Buckingham Palace, wearing a tiara belonging to the late Queen Mother, which had not been worn for more than 100 years.
