arrest and search in Val-d’Or

The Sûreté du Québec carried out a drug search in two residences in Val-d’Or. They took place on rue de la Grève and 3rd avenue.

Rue de la Grève resident Kelly-Ann Boulet, 29, was arrested and questioned. She appeared on various charges under the Cannabis Act as well as the Certain Drugs and Substances Act.

She remains detained for further proceedings. Police seized more than 20 grams of illicit cannabis, more than 16,500 methamphetamine pills, more than 50 grams of cocaine, as well as crack cocaine, ecstasy pills, nearly $10,000 in Canadian money and equipment used to the sale of narcotics.

“This police operation is carried out as part of the ACCES-Cannabis program, whose mission is to reduce the accessibility of illicit cannabis on the Quebec market, particularly among young people, and to reduce unfair competition from illegal producers and traffickers made at the SQDC,” reports the SQ.
