Against violence against women, a red bench is created in this Oise park

This is the second bench of this type to be created in the Oise department. After Client last year, now it's Compiègne which inaugurates a red bench on its territory.

This one was installed and painted in the rose garden of Let's think parkin the city center. It was inaugurated this Monday, November 25, 2024, on the occasion of the International Day to Combat Violence Against Women.

A tribute to women victims of violence

A date which was not chosen at random since this red bench is precisely dedicated to this fight. More and more street furniture in this color has seen the light of day in in recent years.

In Compiègne, this was installed among the roses at the initiative of the information center on the rights of women and families of Oise (CIDFF 60), the Samu social de l'Oise and the CCAS.

” It is a tribute to women victims of feminicide and domestic violence,” explains Anne Faburel, president of the CIDFF of Oise. “This bench is installed in a beautiful place, where you might want to sit down and talk.”

It is essential that there is a place where women can exchange ideas. We would like all the towns in the Oise to have a red bench.

Allow victims to get help

Discuss before being accompanied. Because this bench like no other (the only one of this color at Parc Songeons) is accompanied by an informative plaque, displaying the 3919the national reference number for listening and guiding women victims of violence, free, anonymous and accessible 24/7.

As well as a QR code which will allow whoever sits there to access support services.

A means of informing victims and “showing, in Compiègne, our desire to listen to victims and not accept this violence”, confides Sandrine De Figueiredo, deputy mayor responsible for social affairs and vice-president. deputy president of the CCAS of Compiègne.


“Women victims of violence lead a long and difficult fight to regain their freedom. Their self-esteem is massacred,” underlines Anne Faburel. “The shame must change sides. Women are speaking out more and more and we are here to support them.”
