A Martinican judged by the Assizes for the murder of Victorine Dartois

This tragedy caused a real shock wave in in September 2020. It was thanks to the testimony of someone close to Ludovic Bertin, in whom he had confided, that investigators were able to arrest him.

The individual of Martinican origin is a 29-year-old married father who also lives in Villefontaine.

With 10 convictions mentioned in his record between 2013 and 2019, he is known to the courts for theft, receiving stolen property, traffic offenses and carrying prohibited weapons.

During his interrogations, Ludovic Bertin admitted to the murder, but claimed to have pushed Victorine while he was jogging, that an argument broke out and that he strangled her.

Accused of attempted rape and rape of another victim

But the elements during the investigation put forward another theory: that of an attempted rape which preceded the murder. Victorine was found partially naked, her pants next to her body.

And, to this relative who allowed his arrest, Ludovic Bertin would also have declared on the evening of the events that he had left home to hunt prey and rape her, but that he would have killed her because he did not hadn't gotten there.

He had also used cocaine that evening. During this trial, which is due to last until December 6, Ludovic Bertin must also answer for another rape committed on a young woman in 2018. Her name was also Victorine.
