A 50-year-old man was found dead in his cell, Saturday November 23, 2024, at the Évreux remand center, according to our colleagues from Paris-Normandy.
Rémi Coutin, public prosecutor of Évreux, confirms to France 3 Normandie that a detainee “killed himself on Saturday morning at the Evreux remand prison, by hanging”.
An investigation into the causes of death is being carried out under the direction of the Evreux public prosecutor’s office, entrusted to the Evreux police station.
