The State of Israel and Lebanon have agreed on the terms of a ceasefire to put an end to the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the American media Axios reported this Monday, citing an American official.
The Israeli security council will meet on Tuesday to approve a deal on a ceasefire in Lebanon, an Israeli official told Reuters on Monday. Another Israeli official told Reuters the cabinet would meet to discuss a deal that could be reached in the coming days.
Discussions on a ceasefire in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah have advanced “significantly”, declared the Elysee for its part, highlighting the efforts in this direction of French President Emmanuel Macron with his American counterpart Joe Biden. “Discussions on a ceasefire on the blue line have advanced significantly”declared the Elysée. “We continue to work in this direction with stakeholders and our American partners. […] We hope that stakeholders will seize this opportunity as quickly as possible.” Senior Lebanese sources told Reuters that Emmanuel Macron and Joe Biden could announce a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah within 36 hours.
