In Gap at the beginning of November, the late triggering of an alarm, located inside the Raptors locker room at the Alp'Arena, led to a new mode of internal operation post-match.
As BFM DICI learned, the facts behind this change occurred after the match against Grenoble on November 1.
While a post-match party was organized, around 1 a.m., a suspicion of intrusion into the enclosure which hosts the Raptors matches was reported by remote surveillance.
An internal investigation opened
Immediately, the executive from the town of Gap who was on duty that evening, Jean-Christophe Malfatto, was notified by telephone. A procedure was initiated and the municipality of Gap, owner of the Alp'Arena, noted the presence of a group of people in the locker room.
Among them were two employees of the club, who are not players. According to our information, a former secretary of the ice rink, who no longer works at the club, was also on site as well as a municipal agent.
The town of Gap was concerned about this situation with the club, which also launched an internal investigation in order to understand why these people had found themselves in the Alp'Arena, certain parts of which are supposed to be strictly prohibited from entering. access from a certain time.
An email was sent by club management to the people concerned. After the festive evening, the two club employees simply went to the locker room to collect some things, left there so as not to clutter up the clubhouse.
The alarm could have been triggered elsewhere and by mistake during an involuntary intrusion into a protected area.
Locker rooms now inaccessible one hour after matches
Contacted, Jérôme Escallier had “no comment to make”. The president of the Raptors simply confirms that the club “was alerted by the town hall” and that “the employees were redirected following this municipal alert”.
However, no disciplinary council took place and the incident appears to be closed. A new procedure for the end of matches has been sent to club employees.
From now on, the locker rooms will be inaccessible one hour after the matches. Debriefings or post-match talks must take place elsewhere than in a location that is not club property.
