The families of Israeli hostages issued a strong warning to the government on Monday regarding rumors of a possible agreement with Hezbollah. In a statement, the Hostages’ Families Headquarters (QGF) warned of what they consider a dangerous concession that could “reward Iran and its affiliates.”
The statement emphasizes that an agreement limited only to Lebanon would be a major strategic error. The families insist on the need to include an explicit clause regarding the release of hostages as part of a comprehensive deal to restore stability across the Middle East.
According to the HQ, any agreement that does not include the simultaneous release of all hostages – the living for their rehabilitation and the bodies of the victims for a dignified burial in their country – would undermine fundamental values, national security and the principle of mutual solidarity of Israel. The families believe that such a move would also compromise the country’s ability to win this war. The statement recalls that Hezbollah and Hamas are an integral part of what they call “the Iranian axis of evil.” The October 7 attack was launched by Hamas acting on behalf of Iran, while Hezbollah deliberately joined the conflict by establishing a direct link with the events in Gaza and the October massacre. The families also criticize the position of the Prime Minister who persists in continuing the war in Gaza, despite the significant weakening of Hamas. They note that the defense forces themselves have declared that the release of the hostages now constitutes the main military and political objective in the Gaza Strip. This obstinacy, according to the QGF, compromises the possibility of freeing all the hostages at once. Hamas suffered military losses far greater than those inflicted on Hezbollah by the IDF. In this context, the families fear that a separate agreement with Hezbollah would deprive Israel of the negotiating levers necessary to obtain the release of their loved ones still in captivity. Their message ends with an urgent and simple appeal: “It’s time to bring back the hostages!”
