Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois reached an important personal milestone: on the 14th day of La Liga against Leganés (3-0), the Belgian recorded his 100th match without conceding a goal with the club, as reported journalist Pedro Martin.
It took Courtois 246 matches to reach this milestone, putting him among Real Madrid’s legendary goalkeepers with one of the best percentages of games without conceding a goal. Thibaut’s statistics can be summarized as follows: 100 matches without goals conceded out of 246, or 41%.
For comparison:
- Iker Casillas — 254 shutouts out of 714 (35%).
- Francisco Buyo — 179 out of 450 matches (40%).
- Miguel Ángel — 122 matches on 326 (37%).
Since arriving at Real Madrid in 2018, Courtois has become a key figure in the team. He has time and again saved the club in critical moments and played a vital role in winning the 2022 Champions League, where he was voted the best player in the final.
