Urgent recall of applesauce containing small pieces of plastic

Be careful if you have recently purchased compote in a Carrefour store. The brand recalled on Friday a batch of applesauce potentially containing small pieces of plastic which could cause injury if ingested, reports Capital.

Only one batch is affected by the recall. These are packs of 16 applesauces, with a total weight of 1.6 kg, marketed by the distributor brand Carrefour Classic, specifies the sheet on the official Rappel Conso website. The jars had been sold since October 14 and their expiration date (DLC) was set for February 2, 2025.

A risk of injury

The recalled compotes may in fact contain “very small pieces of blue plastic, more or less perceptible to the naked eye”, we can read on Rappel Conso. Ingesting these plastics can cause injury or adverse reactions, so it is strongly recommended not to consume them at all.

The compotes have been removed from the shelves. Customers who have purchased them are invited to destroy them or return them to the brand to obtain a refund. The recall procedure will end on January 22. If you spot the product in store, you can make a report on the Signal Conso platform.
