A gros construction site is running until the end of December, center square has Lézardrieux (Côtes d'Armor) in order to better regulate rainwater and avoid flooding.

With the installation of the regulation tank of the rainwater on the square, the renovation of the pipes is being completed.

Two months of work on the networks

There will only be a fairly small construction site left on rue des Ecoles.

These two months of works, which seriously disrupted traffic in the town, will end before Christmas.

The rainwater collection pipes were old and damaged, and in the event of heavy rain, the network was quickly saturated.

We remember the damage due to thethunderstorm two years ago, and who had flooded the bottom of the rue du Port.

Rainwater expertise falls within the domain of Lannion Trégor Communauté and it is the project manager on this site, represented by Yann Potin. “Everything was checked by passing a camera through the pipes, and we installed 400 mm pipes, with a wider section than the old ones.”

Regulate drainage with a buried basin

But what will really slow down the evacuation of rainwater is the installation of a buffer basin, located at middle of the square.

With a capacity of 135 m³ (135 000 litres), this tank measures 27.20 m by 4 m wide. With a height of 1.35 m it will be placed at a depth of 2.40 m.

As Pierre François, project manager for N2A, explains:

This tank, made up of cells, is a temporary reserve of runoff water which will regulate evacuation.

Between rue des Ecoles and place de Center, 100 m of pipes were changed.

Alternating lights and shuttle

It must be remembered that the shops rextent open and that we can cross the square because there are alternating lights.

The shuttle set up for the Friday market remains operational until December 20.

Once the basement has been completely renovated, it will be necessary to replace the surface in condition, provisionally, since the redevelopment of the square will start in January.
