This is the second cohort of recruits announced by Kevin Régimbald since he took office as head coach of the Vert & Or.

Jeremy Parent, offensive line coach, is responsible for recruiting.

“We were selective in our choices. For us, it was really important, beyond the sporting aspect, to bring good students and good individuals. We also reduced the number of players recruited; the number of players on rosters will decrease in the coming years. In the past, we could go up to 115 players, it went down to 110 this year. The number will be 105 and 100 for the next two years,” specifies the head coach.

Play and graduate

“When we bring a guy to Sherbrooke, it is with the objective of keeping him and getting him towards graduation. There are still other recruits who will be added. As a first vintage, we are happy with the addition of these players, who will fill needs.

“Tristan Beauchemin is a product of Sherbrooke, and we think he can have a very quick impact with us. He was dominant, and named to the division 2 all-star team. He will bring great competition to the group. It’s a great catch.”

“Same thing with Jonathan Tremblay, from Limoilou. We are well aware that we already have two good young quarterbacks (Jérémy Fyfe and Samuel Goulet-Ménard), but he will add competition to the group. He had to deal with several injuries and he established himself as a starter with a powerhouse like Limoilou.

“Zach Roy, a giant ball carrier from Beauce, adds talent to our group. He has done very well over the last two years with the Condors. He plays with power, with his big size,” says Régimbald about the man who was named to the offensive all-star team in Division 2.
