Women destroyed highways and tenancy rights

We suspected this in the polls carried out during the campaign and the reality at the polls confirmed it. The women's vote was decisive in bringing down the highway widening project of Albert Rösti, Parliament and the Federal Council on Sunday.

The refusal by the people was 52.7%. The new poll carried out this weekend by Tamedia 20/minutes shows that 61% of women voted no and 39% yes. The majority is reversed among men: 56% yes versus 44% no. The difference of 17 points between the two sexes is rare on a voting subject.

The women's vote was also decisive in the two votes on tenancy law. Considering the purpose of subletting narrowly refused at 51.6% by the entire population, women said no at 56% against 44% saying yes. The vote is exactly the opposite on the male side with a 56% yes against 44% no.

Concerning termination for the owner's own needs, this reality is even more marked. The final result at the Swiss level is a refusal of 53.8%. Here, women refused 59% compared to 41% yes. While men said yes by 52% compared to 48% no.
