Former professional footballer Nicky Southall, known for his spells at prestigious clubs such as Gillingham, Bolton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest and Norwich City, has taken the reins as head coach of Lydd Town, a club currently facing challenges in his campaign.
Aged 52, Southall begins this new chapter just two weeks after leaving Lordswood, another club playing in the Southern Counties East Premier Division.
He takes over the position previously held by interim player-coach Ryan Smith at Lindsey Field. Joining him on this adventure, Dave Smith returns to the club in a key role as President of Football Operations.

A statement released by the club expressed: “Nicky arrives with a wealth of experience, having played and coached at the highest level of football, which we are confident will prove invaluable as we strive to turn around our situation this season.”
