A travel agent from Baie-Saint-Paul was able to fill a plane with 189 seats to travel from Quebec to Jamaica on a direct flight.
“It’s so many emotions at the same time. It’s an accomplishment, it’s 11 months of work,” said the owner of Vacances Crystal, Cynthia Gaudeau, on Sunday, the day of departure.
It has now been more than 10 years since a direct connection between Quebec and Jamaica was made at the Jean-Lesage International Airport in Quebec.
Ms. Gaudeau herself had purchased the 189 seats on the plane and had to find customers to fill them herself.
According to the agent, we must encourage the population of Quebec to choose their local airport.
“It’s always worth leaving from Quebec, because if we want to promote our airport, have a lot of opportunities to travel,” she explains.
In addition, while taking the example of the group that headed to Jamaica, Ms. Crystal wants to emphasize that group travel allows you to save money.
“It’s certain that as a group, you definitely save money. It doesn’t matter which Canadian airport,” says the travel agent.
