rising temperatures, strong winds… What weather can we expect at the start of the week?

The passage of the Caetano depression which led to snowfall almost everywhere in at the end of the week seems only to be a distant memory.

Indeed, since this Sunday, November 24, 2024, mild air coming from Morocco has arrived on French territory, leading to a significant increase in temperatures. We can expect up to 20°C in the Basque Country! In Champagne-Ardenne and Aisne, the mercury is around 15 degrees.

This rise in temperatures is accompanied by strong winds linked to Storm Bert which is crossing the British Isles. Gusts of up to 100 km/h are expected in an area extending from the English Channel to and the Basque Country via the Rhône valley and the Massif Central. The Pyrénées-Atlantiques are on orange alert while 66 other departments have been placed on alert for the risk of violent winds.

Will this generalized downturn continue? Will the wind continue to blow strong? We take stock of the weather forecast for the start of the week.

Wind followed by rain

Temperatures will remain very mild at the start of the week, settling around 10-15 degrees in almost the entire territory. The mercury will even approach 20°C, mainly in the south of France.

But the weather will not necessarily be good. Six departments in the Center-East of France (Allier, Saône-et-, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, Rhône, Haute-Loire) are on orange “wind” alert and 58 others on yellow this Monday, November 25. A rainy disturbance will also cross France from west to east.

The wind should then calm down from Tuesday but the south-east will wake up to rain. In the evening and at night, rainy disturbances are expected in Brittany, and Pas-de-. Disturbances which will extend to Loire-Atlantique and Charente but also to the region and Champagne-Ardenne on Wednesday.
