The suspect herself informed a neighbor. A 66-year-old man was found dead on Saturday evening, stabbed, in his apartment in Voiron (Isère), the Grenoble prosecutor's office said this Sunday. His wife was taken into custody shortly after the macabre discovery, according to the same source.
Aged 70, the victim's wife was interviewed on Sunday morning by police officers from the local judicial police service in Voiron, prosecutor Éric Vaillant told the press, confirming information from the regional daily Le Dauphiné Libéré.
According to the newspaper, it was the septuagenarian herself who alerted a neighbor on Saturday around 6:30 p.m., shortly after having stabbed her husband “several times” during an altercation which “degenerated”. This neighbor then contacted the police and emergency services, the latter being unable to resuscitate the victim on site, according to this source.
According to Le Dauphiné Libéré neither the victim nor his wife were known to the police. The police also had no trace of a precedent of domestic violence.
