Bas-Rhin firefighters intervened around 4:50 a.m. this Sunday in Furdenheim after the fire in a small two-story house, transformed into an Airbnb. A family with four children was there when the fire broke out for reasons still unknown. One of the children, a 10 year old little girl was in the attic, she was taken out through the skylight of the house, she was in cardio-respiratory arrest when the firefighters arrived. She was able to be resuscitated and was then transported in a coma, in absolute emergency, to Hautepierre hospital in Strasbourg.
Around twenty people were evacuated according to the mayor of Furdenheim, Marc Hermann, collected at the municipal home. Five of them were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Since then, most of the families have been able to return to their homes, except one of them, because the CO2 level is still too high in the house. The fire is now out. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the fire.
