Seven years after his death, Dany Boon tells Johnny Hallyday: “He had me…”

On December 5, it will be seven years since Johnny Hallyday died at the age of 74. A death that shocked the whole of , starting of course with his family and closest friends. His son, David Hallyday, also confided in
Tele-Leisure on his relationship with his father:
“Sometimes there are things left unsaid that say a lot. I prefer to feel things in the eyes, gestures or silences rather than speaking. I think he was proud of me because I do things that he didn't do, like my songwriter-producer side which he really respected.
We also had a common passion for music which meant that we were super close, much more than people thought.”

Eddy Mitchell still holds a grudge against Johnny Hallyday

For his part, Eddy Mitchell admitted that he was angry with his friend.
I'm angry with him for believing he was invulnerable, and for making us believe it. He thought he would get through everything. He wanted to remain the strongest, like a demigod. And we wanted it for him too. I shared some of his excesses, and I ended up calming down, by force of circumstances. I was wiser. There is a weariness in leading this life, warnings, the body and the doctors who alert you. He never calmed down, he never took his foot off the gas, and he partly ruined his life. But it represents a part of mine“, he confided.

A few weeks earlier, at the microphone of France Inter, Eddy Mitchell revealed that he “slap” Johnny Hallyday during their first meeting which took place during a “surprise
party
“. The interpreter of Mint water color then explained: He had stolen my records!
He said to me: 'Well, I like them so much that I didn't know where to find them. So, we became friends. Well yes, because we had the same tastes. He loved Presley, I liked it, but nothing more. I'm (…) Little Ray Charles, Fats Domino etc, this whole extraordinary clique.”

Kad Merad recounts his most beautiful memory with Jonny Hallyday

As the sad anniversary of the rocker's death approaches, many personalities have shared some anecdotes. This is the case of Kad Merad, guest ofAs an aside
on Canal+, who returned to his duet with Johnny Hallyday on the song What my mouth in 2014. It's an unforgettable moment. It was amazing what I did. I love singing and so I went. He's someone I didn't know well enough about, but I adored Johnny Hallyday. He was a man of kindness and elegance… After our duet, he came to see me and told me that I sang well. It was wonderful”he remembered.

Dany Boon expresses his regret regarding Johnny Hallyday

During his last visit to the set of Children of Dany Boon admitted to Laurence Boccolini that he had lived in Johnny Hallyday's house, located in Los Angeles.
He lent me his house. It was lovely because I was going to work with Warner and Will Smith. He told me: 'You're coming to my house'. I said, 'Okay.' It was great. He had an incredible car collection. Afterwards, we were neighbors, it was great. He wanted to teach me how to ride a Harley-Davidson, I was panicking. I don't know how to ride a motorbike, I'm very headstrong!he declared.

A few months earlier, the man who recently separated from Laurence Arné had already mentioned being Johnny Hallyday's neighbor on RFM. “I was lucky to know him. I was his neighbor in Los Angeles. I love Johnny (…) He was loving, instinctive, a guy who felt you. He had something, almost animal-like!”he confided before sharing his biggest regret regarding the rocker: “I had a project with him, I wanted him to play a circus boss in a film I was planning to make about the circus. Unfortunately… It's my regret. He was a fan of my films. I was very happy about that, and very proud.”
