Friday November 22, a violent fire ravaged a house in Carrouges, in Orne. If a first victim was evacuated in relative urgency, the body of a second missing occupant was discovered in the rubble the next day.
A massive mobilization of firefighters
According to France 3, it was in the middle of the afternoon, Friday November 22, 2024, that a fire of rare intensity broke out in a house located in 9 rue du Docteur Louis Tremblinin Carrouges. Up to 52 firefighters surrounding communities were mobilized to control the flames.
The particularly delicate rescue operations continued until the morning of Saturday, November 23. Despite the scale of their intervention, the house was completely destroyed by the disaster.
A first victim hospitalized
During the first interventions, a person living in the home was able to be evacuated. In light condition, she was transported to the La Ferté Macé hospital center to receive care.
