A violent fire ravaged a slum in Manila, Philippines this Sunday, November 24. According to authorities, around 1,000 homes were affected by the fire. No casualties have been reported at this time.
Hundreds of homes engulfed in fire. This Sunday morning, impressive flames and thick black smoke erupted in the sky of Manila, where a fire is destroying hundreds of homes in a slum.
The Philippine capital’s fire and rescue service, deployed to put out the flames still devastating the slum, said around 1,000 homes had so far been affected by the fire, which is believed to have started in the second floor of one of the homes.
According to firefighters, some 2,000 families lived in this slum, located in the Isla Puting Bato district. To help the population as quickly as possible, the authorities deployed 36 fire trucks and four fire boats, while the air force sent two helicopters to help put out the flames.Belgium
