A match which seemed to be a formality for the Greens who were leading 3-0 at the hour mark. But three minutes later, a big error on the restart by their goalkeeper, Arthur Crémer, allowed the Unionists to get back on track. At 3-2, a penalty awarded to the visitors could allow Saint-Gilloise to equalize but the cross saved Crémer. In the process, Excelsior manages to take shelter definitively (3-2) and pocket three points which allow it to get closer to two units of the leader, Mons, forced to share (0-0) in Tournai ..

“We're doing the hardest but it's an error from our goalkeeper which puts them completely back in the match,” laments the Virton coach, Jérôme Arpinon. “After the 3-2, they inherited a penalty that their player kicked very badly. Then we reacted well to score the fourth goal which killed the match.”
