Zayn Malik paid tribute to Liam Payne, his former bandmate in One Direction, during the opening night of his “Stairway to the Sky” tour this Saturday, November 23.
“I love you brother.” It was with his words full of sadness that Zayn Malik paid tribute to Liam Payne at the end of his concert held at the O2 Academy Leeds in West Yorkshire, England, on November 23.
“Love you bro”, were indeed able to read it to the spectators of this show which marked the launch of the tour of the former member of One Direction. As reported by Deadline, a heart emoji with Liam Payne's name and the dates of his birth and death appeared on stage.
The message was projected as the first notes of the hit “Stardust” began to resonate in which Zayn Malik sings: “It looks like stardust / It's falling all around us / It's funny how she found us .”
Zayn Malik's tour, initially scheduled for last month in San Francisco, was postponed following the death of Liam Payne on October 16.
The first date comes just days after Liam Payne's funeral, which took place at St Mary's Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, and was attended by all former members of One Direction: Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.
