What strategies for the Las Vegas Grand Prix?

A few hours before the start of the Las Vegas Grand Prix (7:00 a.m. Sunday) and after having collected all possible data since the start of the weekend, Pirelli has revealed the strategies that the teams will be able to use under the spotlights of the city of sin.

One of the information is about hard tires. All drivers on the grid kept at least two new trains for this 50-lap race. This does not mean, however, that everyone plans to make two stops during the Grand Prix.

According to the first information that Pirelli has sent, the grid could/should prioritize a one-stop strategy. For this scenario, the Italian manufacturer offers two scenarios: the first with a start on medium for a single stop between the 14th and 20th laps, the second a start on hard to dive into the pit lane between the 28th and 34th laps .

Last year, this strategy could not be implemented since the appearance of the Safety Car on the 26th lap forced all the drivers to stop a second time.

Concerning the second strategy, Pirelli obviously proposes a two-stop plan, again with two scenarios: the first with a start on mediums before passing the hard ones twice, first between the 8th and 14th laps then between the 26th and 32nd. The second is alternative with the use of the softest rubber before two hard relays.

Unless there are any surprises, the majority of the grid should bet on a medium start before moving on to the hard ones. Those who need to go back up should do the opposite.
