Real Madrid: The Ballon d'Or on its way to Spain?

Recent statements from Rodri, key Manchester City midfielder, have had the effect of a bombshell in Spain and England.

Asked about his future in an interview with The Stringerthe Spanish international has not ruled out one day wearing the Real Madrid jersey. A statement which immediately fueled speculation about a possible transfer, especially given the importance of Rodri in City's recent successes.

The player, who has established himself as one of the best in his position thanks to his vision of the game, his recovery and his distribution, is respected by Pep Guardiola and by Manchester City supporters. However, his comments about Real Madrid, which he described as a “great club”, have cast doubt on his future. Rodri made it clear that he was not closing any doors to a new professional challenge, a phrase which, in the world of football, is often the prelude to negotiations.

Real Madrid, always looking for midfield reinforcements to strengthen an already very competitive team, could take advantage of this opening to try to convince Rodri to leave Manchester City. Such a transfer would of course give rise to numerous discussions, both on the technical and symbolic impact of the arrival of a player of this caliber at the Santiago Bernabéu, further strengthening the rivalry between the European giants on the transfer market.
