QRM 2-0 VAFC: We take the same ones and start again

While they had collected three points in Nîmes two weeks ago, the Leopards wanted to follow up this Friday, November 22 by hosting the VAFC. In the meantime, the magic of the Coupe de offered them a dream evening, with the elimination on penalties of FC, leader of Ligue 2. And if their opponents from last night, not at best in this start of the season, were not of the same ilk, it was still necessary to rub shoulders since it was a former resident of the second division. Like QRM. Between the Northerners and the Normans, the duels were fought, the fight kept all its promises. At the end of the evening, David Carré's team secured a second consecutive victory in the championship, thanks to the achievements of Isaac Tshipamba (1') then Namakoro Diallo (86').

This new success allows David Carré and his players to gain ever more confidence, they who are now 11th in the National, with one game less on certain teams. From the start of the match, it was our number 11 Isaac Tshipamba who got the ball rolling. Offering QRM the opportunity to take the lead as soon as the kick-off is given. It was also the opportunity to take all the Diochon spectators with him, and to celebrate this goal under the eyes of our KOP supporters. Overall, the Leopards' first period went smoothly. The Red & Yellow showed authority, highlighting their qualities both on the offensive aspect by obtaining several clear situations, and on the defensive aspect with very few clear chances conceded. Pierre Patron was never put in danger, even in the second half.

Because we could have expected a burst of pride on the VAFC side in the second period, a club whose off-season and history clearly prove that it is ambitious. Unfortunately for them, without their head and assistant coaches excluded a few minutes before the end of the first act, it was difficult to get their heads above water. Opposite, the Leopards defended tooth and nail the three points they were winning, extinguishing the northern hopes with unfailing solidarity. The second half of QRM was less good than the previous one, certainly, but it highlighted other qualities of David Carré's group: determination, control of emotions and even resilience. A few minutes from the end of regulation time, and while this one-goal advantage left the Northerners still in the game, Namakoro Diallo widened the gap with a powerful strike in the Valencia area. The break was made, they still had to be serious until the end to secure the three points, which the Rouge & Jaune did brilliantly.

QRM will now be able to calmly return to its Coupe de France adventure, with a duel against FC Liancourt Clermont (R2) in Chambly next Saturday. Their next two meetings in the championship will take place in Diochon since they will challenge FC (away) on December 6, then welcome US Concarneau on the 14th.
