The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition recently received a final update to improve its experience. The problem is that the update also erased the name of the studio behind the remakes.

A nightmarish exit

When Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was announced, the whole world expressed its joy and enthusiasm: replaying the cult classics GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas with modernized gameplay and Revamped graphics under a new engine was a childhood dream for many, almost come true. The problem is that the cold shower when the game was released was one of the most severe in the history of video games: a mess of bugs, everywhere, all the time and a very lingering aesthetic of the account immediately led to a monstrous bad buzz.

In the viewfinder, Grove Street Games, the studio in charge of overhauling the trilogy. The developers therefore climbed the slope with Rockstar as supervisor, delivering numerous corrective updates to restore the experience and avoid total industrial disaster (although sales were excellent, by the way).

A final update and a denial

This week, GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is therefore armed with a last update and not the least : new mass fixes, but also a huge visual facelift with a sublimated lighting atmosphere. In short, the time has never been better than to launch this compilation, three years after its release.

The players have reason to be happy, but also noticed the disappearance of the “Grove Street Games” logo in the creditsthen shouting it loud and clear onThe studio's CEO, Thomas Williamson, didn't mince his words faced with this unpleasant surprise.

Speaking really hypothetically: it's a shitty move to strip core developers of credits in an update, especially when an update includes hundreds of fixes that were contributed by those developers and left out of reach of players for years.

If the developer does not cite Rockstar or GTA in any way, his allusion is obvious and above all, he points the finger at Rockstar for not having properly supervised the development of the remakes, despite the solutions visibly provided by the studio. That's it, it's said.
