For the opening of this 12^e day of Ligue 1, Monaco received Brestois lacking confidence in the championship with two defeats against Montpellier (3-1) and Nice (0-1). Thanks to undivided domination during the first half, the Monegasques ended up winning 2 to 1, despite the Brestois reducing the gap at the start of the second half.
