At the end of the afternoon, Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to send a new message to the West. He ordered the mass production of the supersonic missile which targeted Ukraine for the first time on Thursday November 21. He intends to test it again.
The staging had something familiar with the flags, the white telephones dating from the Soviet era… Exactly the same setting as in February 2022, when Vladimir Putin announced the invasion of Ukraine. The same threatening tone to justify this time the firing of a ballistic missile on the city of Dnipro in Ukraine. Normally, the device carries exclusively a nuclear warhead. Yesterday, the missile was fortunately not loaded, but the warning to Westerners is clear.
The medium-range missile named Orenchnik is experimental. It has a range of 3,000 to 5,500 km. It can travel up to three kilometers per second. Vladimir Putin declared this Friday evening, November 22, that he will mass produce them and test them in combat. This time, the missile only traveled 1,000 km. But could it reach France or Germany, for example, without being intercepted?
