Kombouaré gets his new striker for €10M

FC Nantes launches its transfer window. As expected for a few days, Matthis Abline signs his return to the Canaries. The La Beaujoire club managed to reach an agreement with Stade Rennais for the transfer of the 21-year-old striker, for 10 million euros, to which various bonuses can be added. The native of Angers is committed to the next four seasons.

Matthis Abline returns to Nantes

Loaned last year to Nantes, the French U21 international saw his training club, Rennes, activate a buyout clause worth 2 million euros at the end of May. At the same time, the Nantais had offered 6 million euros to permanently secure his services. Convinced of being able to quickly make a capital gain, the Red and Black leaders were not mistaken. For Nantes, this is the biggest transfer in the club’s history.

Abline was quickly designated as a priority target in attack by Antoine Kombouaré. In difficulty during a large part of the season, the center forward finally found a place in the Nantes eleven when Kanak arrived on the bench, notably scoring four goals in the last eight days.
